TORRANCE, Calif.--Kubota Tractor Corporation’s (KTC) KX41-3V compact excavator, was developed specifically for international markets outside of Japan. Following in the footsteps of its larger family three-series models, this excavator builds upon Kubota’s respected diesel engine and design technologies to help contractors perform more precise operations in tight spaces. Upgraded features, more operator comfort and powerful performance allow the KX41-3V to handle any jobsite task with ease. Kubota’s E-TVCS Combustion, three-cylinder, diesel engine rated at 17 hp, reduces fuel consumption, noise and vibration while delivering a powerful output. This machine is quiet enough to work at residential or school worksites without disturbing neighbors.

With the digital monitoring panel, operators can easily view and check engine functions. KICS (Kubota Intelligent Control System) shows standard operational displays such as the fuel level, hour meter, coolant temperature and travel speed. Service alerts, coordinated with the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule are also performed. Alarm displays, including low fuel, overheating and electrical system abnormalities, warn the operator before it is too late. KICS reduces downtime and maintenance with easily read backlit characters and symbols.

Operating at 3,693 lbs., the KX41-3V delivers a wide operational range resulting in a maximum digging height of 11’8” and maximum digging depth of 7’9”. The maximum vertical digging depth is 6’2” and the maximum reach at ground level rates at 12’8”.

Kubota’s unique hydraulic system combines exceptionally balanced boom, arm and bucket speeds for productive, smooth operations. This system enhances digging power and productivity giving the KX41-3V the highest bucket breakout force in its class, rated at 3,505 lbs.

Cushioned hydraulic circuits reduce shock loads for smooth operation. New auxiliary hydraulics allow simultaneous operation of the boom and implement resulting in greater overall efficiency. The variable displacement hydraulic pump automatically adjusts the oil flow according to the workload ensuring more effective operations without wasting engine power.

Traveling between narrow spaces is easy with the track width adjustment lever. The operator can change the track width from 4’3” to 3’3” without lifting the machine off the ground. The pin-on blade extensions require no tools and are conveniently stored on-board.

Weight distribution and track length were top priorities with the KX41-3V design, providing superior stability, less machine bounce and therefore reducing operator fatigue.

The KX41-3V has a roomy operator’s space, complete with a suspension seat and wrist rests located by the short stroke pilot controls, providing comfort all day long. The Travel Speed Switch is repositioned from the two-series and is conveniently located on top of the blade control lever. Backfilling trenches and finish work is completed more quickly and efficiently. The KX41-3V comes standard with a Two Pattern Selection System (TPSS) allowing the operator to select either ISO or SAE control pattern.

The hydraulic auxiliary and bucket hoses are enclosed within the boom for maximum protection. The boom cylinder has been repositioned to the topside of the boom, further protecting against damage. When operating in dusty worksites, the dual element air cleaner protects the engine and ensures long working life. Maintenance is made easy with the wide-open hood. Routine inspections can be performed quickly and efficiently.

The KX41-3V has an OSHA approved ROPS/TOPS/FOPS canopy and retractable seatbelt. Another example of operator safety is the safety lock system, which when the safety lever is raised, the front attachments cannot move even if the pilot controls are touched.
