TORRANCE, Calif. (January 18, 2005) - Kubota Corporation's affiliated
companies in the United States, including Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC),
Kubota Credit Corporation (KCC), Kubota Manufacturing of America (KMA),
and Kubota Engine America Corp (KEA), will donate $100,000 in support
of the ongoing tsunami disaster relief effort in South Asia, as part of
the global Kubota effort, The donation will be split equally between UNICEF
and the American Red Cross.
"Kubota would like to express our deepest sympathy and condolences
to the victims of the recent disaster, " stated Tetsuji "Mike"
Tomita, President, Kubota Tractor Corporation (USA). "The devastating
aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami disaster has affected us all.
Since Kubota has a strong business presence throughout Southeast Asia,
this disaster is even more meaningful to our company."
Kubota's affiliated companies in the region of the disaster have been
working with local agencies to donate food, clothing and additional assistance
to those left homeless by the tsunami. For example, Kubota donated 30
engines and three generators to assist with the recovery operations. Kubota
Corporation of Osaka, Japan, has already made a contribution of $100,000
to the Japanese Red Cross Society for tsunami relief. The combined Kubota
Corporation worldwide donation will total $400,000, including contributions
from affiliated companies in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia,
and Australia.
Kubota employees and dealers have also been encouraged to make donations
to the tsunami relief effort though the organizations of their choice.
In the United States, KTC will match each employee donation to provide
additional relief funds. |
