As Mississippi
Young Farmer & Rancher Award winners, Barrett and Susan Fisackerly
of Columbus received 350 hours use of a Kubota tractor of their choice.
The Fisackerlys chose an M9000 4WD cab tractor with a front loader.
"I chose a comparable model in horsepower to the tractors I already
have. This is my first Kubota and I just love it. This tractor is so
comfortable and attractive too", explains Barrett.
Barretts operation consists of 145 brood cows, 474 stockers, and
245 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat on a planned rotation program. He
has diversified into pre-conditioning of cattle; harvesting and sale of
wheat straw and hay; and custom bush-hogging. "We received the Kubota
in March and I already have 150 hours on it.
Right
now it is in a corn field pulling a liquid fertilizer sprayer and it is
great to use in the muddy pastures to feed the cows. This is a very economical
tractor that is equally as good a performing tractor if not better than
my green ones", said Barrett. Cheri Parker, Southeast RSM, has been
very resourceful through the process and the Fisackerlys are grateful.
"Cheri made things so easy for us to get the tractor and implements
that we needed. I am grateful to Kubota for sponsoring such a great program",
said Barrett.
