KUBOTA CELEBRATES OPENING OF NEW DISTRIBUTION FACILITY:
Increased Production and Sales Demands Spur Growth of Distribution Capabilities

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (July 23, 2004) - Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC) officially opened the doors of its new National Distribution Center today. Designated exclusively for shipping product, the new warehouse will improve Kubota's ability to support the growth in current and future sales and distribution.

The 15-acre Gainesville facility provides 200,000 square feet of distribution and storage space and is conveniently located near other key Kubota facilities in Georgia. The warehouse is a distribution center for all Kubota Manufacturing of America (KMA) products, except the RTV900 and BX23, which will continue to be shipped directly from the KMA plant. The National Distribution Center will be in full operation, shipping to dealers across the United States, in September 2004.

"With increasing production demands and sales on the rise, our distribution capabilities must also escalate. Shifting the majority of this responsibility from KMA to the National Distribution Center allows us to focus on this process so we continue to provide superior service to our dealers and customers," said Tetsuji "Mike" Tomita, KTC president. "Even more important, the separate distribution center increases our ability to support the anticipated sales growth in years to come."

The new distribution center is Kubota's fourth facility in Georgia. Other facilities in the state include:

  • Kubota Manufacturing of America (KMA) - Gainesville, Ga.: KMA manufactures and assembles Kubota lawn tractors, zero-turn mowers, sub-compact tractors, utility vehicles, loaders, backhoes and other implements at the 151-acre Gainesville plant. The two master buildings offer 616,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Established in March 1988, today one-half of all Kubota branded equipment sold in the United States is manufactured or assembled at this facility.
  • Kubota Tractor Corporation, Oakwood Campus - Oakwood, Ga.: The Oakwood facility is Kubota's first separate tractor and equipment assembly plant in the U.S. The Oakwood Campus assembles Kubota M-Series utility tractors, tractor/loader/backhoes, and tractor/loaders. Established in January 2003, the 52-acre facility is also home to Kubota's Technical & Marketing Center (TMC). The TMC concentrates on testing and development of products for residential and commercial grounds care customer.
  • KTC Southeast Division - Suwannee, Ga.: Kubota's Southeast Division serves dealers in 11 states and has a parts and wholegoods warehouse, in addition to finance, sales, service and distribution functions

"We look forward to the distribution center contributing to Kubota's overall growth in the U.S. and we're pleased to further expand our business presence in the great state of Georgia," Tomita concluded.
