The Ideal Place for Showcasing Solutions that Meet Global Customers’ Needs

Jürgen Bidell, Sales Manager at Kubota Baumaschinen GmbH, had this to say: “Our motto ‘Move your world forward’ embodies the progress and continuous development of Kubota, as well as our vision of a positive future. With a clear view to the future and optimism, we strive to develop innovative solutions that move our industry and the world around us forward.”

Samuel Cablant, President of Kubota Europe SAS, says that bauma is “a wonderful opportunity to introduce new models to all of Europe in one shot” for construction machinery providers. Kubota's booth received visits from lots of dealers and agents from more than ten countries, including France and Italy, as well as end users and rental companies. All expressed tremendous interest in the new products and their features. Cablant further emphasized the importance of the event: “New technologies and concepts should be introduced in bauma. Again, it is the right place in Europe, like CES in Las Vegas for the construction market.”

Rob White, Division Manager of the Construction Department at Kubota (U.K.) Limited, also shared his outlook for the future: “We need to focus on innovation, solutions that customers are asking for in terms of safety, productivity, comfort, performance and the environment. It will be interesting to see how alternative fuels like electric or hydrogen progress in the future and how Kubota will offer different solutions to suit customers’ needs around the world.”

Engine and Fuel Sensor Technologies that Promote Sustainability

Our engine business set up at bauma to maintain, strengthen, and further develop partnerships with customers worldwide. We presented new products and cutting-edge technologies.

New V3307 3.3L Engine and Compact Mixer SCR System

The V3307 engine is a model with approximately 65% improved output over conventional models. This lets customers downsize from large-displacement engines, offering improved fuel efficiency and greater freedom in equipment installation. And the Compact Mixer SCR system, an exhaust gas purification system that also greatly enhances installation flexibility, was unveiled for the first time.

HVO Fuel Sensor Technology Detects Biofuel Content Level

We unveiled our HVO fuel sensor technology, which offers real-time detection for the amount of HVO fuel* being supplied. If the sensor detects that a certain amount of regular diesel fuel without HVO is being used, it automatically restricts engine operation through the ECU.

Along with these solutions, we exhibited the Z482-K, a highly versatile new two-cylinder engine developed in partnership with Aixam Mega (France), and provided live demonstrations for engines including the V5009, Kubota’s first diesel engine to exceed 200 horsepower, so that visitors could see them in action.

Promoting Efforts Toward a Sustainable and Carbon-Neutral Future

Daniel Grant, Marketing Intelligence Manager for the Engine Europe Division, said, “bauma will offer an international platform demonstrating how we are working alongside our customers to develop the solutions which they need to meet their varied requirements.”

Mr. Grant expanded upon the efforts of the engine business:
“Our vision for the future is in line with that of our customers around the world. Helping the drive towards a sustainable, carbon-neutral future is evident through such product developments as our leading-edge, off-highway hydrogen engine which eliminates carbon dioxide emissions by only using hydrogen as a fuel.”
He also expressed his excitement for the next fair: “From the valuable experience we gained from bauma 2025, we look forward to building upon the success on our journey to bauma 2028.”

Japan’s Exclusive Steel Pipe Joint Technology Enables Safer and Faster Construction

Our water environment business exhibited at bauma along with Giken Ltd. Giken’s press-in technology installs piles without vibration or noise, making it highly effective in construction sites with hard ground and limited space. The Laqnican joint exhibited by the water environment business is a solution that shares the same concept and features.

Kubota’s water environment business booth prepared mock-ups of the Laqnican joint

The Laqnican joint is an exclusive technology from Japan that joins steel pipe piles together mechanically. It provides a joint solution that is easier, faster, and safer than welding, helping to make construction work more productive.

Kubota’s Laqnican joint has improved year after year and now has an 80% share of the Japanese market. It has also begun to expand internationally in recent years. The exhibit at bauma was intended to increase awareness especially in Europe and collect feedback from the market.

A Place for Training the Businesspeople of the Future

“I felt that it went beyond the scope of an exhibition,” recalls Takuto Yamashita from Kubota’s Steel Pipe Sales Division about Kubota’s booth at bauma. “Along with the business aspects, we could enjoy food together, and on weekends many families visited the venue, making it feel more like a festival. I think it also fulfills a role as a place for learning for the children who will be businesspeople of the future.”

Construction materials like the Laqnican Joint take time to gain recognition in the market and adoption for ongoing use. Regarding international expansion of such products, Yamashita expressed a forward-looking view: “Through steady PR efforts at trade fairs and other events, we aim to gradually make inroads into new markets and continue contributing to improved productivity in construction projects.”
