Powertrain Lineup That Supports Design Flexibility
Engines are one of the most critical components in any machine.
Kubota offers a seamless lineup covering a wide range of output levels in the compact engine segment, enabling customers to select engines that precisely match their target performance requirements. In addition to diesel, Kubota engines support multiple fuel options, such as gasoline and natural gas, and are designed in consideration of regional energy conditions and regulations.
Kubota also places strong emphasis on compactness and ease of installation within limited machine spaces. These design principles enhance customers’ freedom in machine design and support product development tailored to specific regions and applications.
-
Solutions That Enable Long-Term Operation in Real-World Environments
In markets where operating conditions and emissions regulations vary widely, product value cannot be realized through engine performance alone.
By combining its engine technology with a global sales network and service infrastructure, Kubota supports the ability to keep machines operating in the field—a key requirement for customers worldwide.
These efforts contribute to the continuity of customers’ businesses, including their overseas expansion and product exports.
As a result, Kubota engines function not merely as components, but as part of an integrated solution that supports machines from development through real-world operation.
-
Manufacturing Foundations Refined Over Generations
Backed by manufacturing technologies cultivated over more than 100 years—starting with casting expertise—Kubota has pursued engines that are compact yet robust, achieving high output density.
This continued commitment to refining manufacturing fundamentals is reflected in today’s quality and reliability, and supports the adoption of Kubota engines across a wide range of machinery, including OEM applications.
Our Technologies
-
Compliance with Emissions Regulations
Emissions regulations for industrial engines began to take shape in earnest in 1995 with the introduction of regulations for small utility engines in California, U.S. Ahead of this, Kubota became the first engine manufacturer in the world to obtain emissions regulation certification in 1993. Since then, Kubota has developed and supplied engines that comply with emissions regulations in Japan, the U.S., Europe, China, and other regions worldwide. Kubota’s ability to conduct certification testing in-house is a key strength supporting its global compliance.
-
Engine Design to Meet Diverse Applications
Even when engines are based on the same platform, their applications and installed machinery vary widely. Through application engineering, Kubota optimizes engine specifications and configurations to meet customer requirements. In addition to emissions compliance, Kubota offers flexible customization options, such as power take-off layouts, output settings, and accessory configurations. This adaptability enables Kubota to deliver optimal engine solutions across a wide range of applications, including construction, agricultural, and industrial machinery.

-
Compatibility with Diverse Fuels and Decarbonized Energy Sources
Available energy resources and infrastructure differ significantly by region, making fuel flexibility essential for industrial engines. Kubota offers engines compatible with a wide range of fuels, including diesel, gasoline, LPG, and natural gas. In recent years, we have also expanded our efforts into alternative and decarbonized fuels, such as compatibility with EN 15940–compliant paraffinic diesel. Kubota continues to research and develop of next-generation fuels to support a future carbon-neutral society.
