Kubota Establishes New Construction Machinery Department at Indian Sales Subsidiary Accelerating business expansion in the Indian market

Kubota Corporation (Head Office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Japan; President and Representative Director: Yuichi Kitao; hereinafter, “Kubota”) announced today that its Indian sales subsidiary, Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Private Ltd., (hereinafter, “KAI”), has set up a new construction machinery department and has commenced marketing small construction machinery, as of April 1, 2021.
Kubota will take steps to further expand business in the Indian market for small construction machinery, a category in which demand is expected to expand, going forward.

1. Background and objectives

  • The Indian market for small construction machinery is expanding due to increased investment in infrastructure such as roads, electric power reticulation, and water supply and sewage lines along with economic growth, and the market expansion is expected to continue going forward.
  • Kubota sells small construction machinery through local distributors (wholesalers); however, this move of establishing a new construction machinery department within KAI will reinforce the company’s sales and after-sales service systems. Kubota will aim to expand sales in the small construction machinery market, which is expected to grow, by further strengthening its ability to respond to market and customer demands while contributing to India’s further economic development.
