Kubota Obtained the Highest-Rating in CDP “Climate Change” and “Water Security”

February 7, 2024

Kubota Corporation (Head Office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka; President: Yuichi Kitao; hereinafter "our company") has been selected by CDP*1, an international non-profit organization, as a highest-rated “A-List” company in both Climate Change and Water Security*2. This is the first time we have been selected as the “A-List” for climate change and the fifth time for water security. Out of more than 21,000 evaluated companies, we are one of a small number of companies that achieved a double “A”.
We consider the recent evaluation results as a high appraisal of the transparency in our company's operations and information disclosure. Through our business activities and proactive disclosure of information, we will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by solving both social and environmental issues throughout the value chain, while further enhancing our corporate value.

We have formulated a long-term vision for the period up to 2030, aiming to become an "essentials innovator for supporting life" committed to a prosperous society and cycle of nature. To achieve this vision, we are dedicated to contributing to the resolution of social issues and the realization of a sustainable society through our business in the areas of food, water, and the environment. In the food sector, we utilize ICT and robot technology to improve the efficiency of agricultural operations, improve productivity, and provide agricultural solutions that are effective as adaptation measures to climate change. Furthermore, we contribute to reducing greenhouse gases generated from agricultural activities. In the water and environmental fields, we contribute to the development of water infrastructure by supplying a wide range of products and services, from water intake to wastewater, including water pipes, valves, pumps, and water treatment facilities.

In 2021, we formulated the "Environmental Vision" to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral and resilient society while challenging to achieve zero environmental impact. In the future, various social issues are expected to emerge due to the effects of climate change and water-related risks. The Kubota Group will contribute to building a resilient society by providing our technologies, products, and solutions to emerging climate and water-related problems.
