1. Background and Objectives
Agricultural machinery must be tailored to the specific conditions of the country or region where it will be used, as crops, farming practices, and usage environments can vary significantly. To deliver solutions suited to the differing conditions and challenges faced by customers in each region, Kubota is constructing a global R&D framework composed of six bases, while also working to localize research and development activities. KRDA is in charge of agricultural machinery-related R&D for Thailand and other ASEAN countries. However, establishing mechanization systems for dry-field crops and addressing other needs will require us to further accelerate these activities.
In addition, as Thailand continues its urbanization, demand is also on the rise for small construction machinery, requiring the development of attachments tailored to the local conditions.
In response, we are expanding the site by constructing additional facilities to accommodate the growing number of R&D personnel, and by developing an all-weather test field designed to simulate a wide range of climate and soil conditions, and full-scale operations are now underway.
Boosting Kubota’s R&D capabilities will enable us to undertake a greater number of development projects and accelerate our R&D activities, as we remain committed to advancing agriculture and promoting the mechanization of various agricultural tasks in Thailand and the rest of the ASEAN region.
