Hands-on Learning at KUBOTA AGRI-KIDS Summer Camp

  • Educating the Next Generation

Providing Opportunities for Children to Learn about the Importance of the Global Environment

From 2007 to 2019, Kubota has been supporting the hands-on learning TERRA-KOYA summer camp to enable children, the bearers of the future, learn about the abundance of nature as well as the importance of the global environment. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the program was renamed "Kubota Agri-kids Camp" and renewed in 2024.

In response to the climate crisis, apparent as natural disasters that specifically include the floods, earthquakes, and hurricanes repeatedly occurring all over the world, we have entered the stage of reevaluating the way we deal with nature.

For Kubota, which aims to achieve a sustainable society through its interrelated fields of food, water, and the environment, delays in addressing these global social issues are potential business risks. Environmental conservation activities are an important issue among Kubota's corporate activities, and as such, Kubota holds the hands-on learning Kubota Agri-kids summer camp for elementary school students.

The Kubota Agri-kids Camp aims to stimulate children's interest in the future of food and agriculture by exposing them to locally rooted agriculture in a natural environment. Including the outdoor project held as the Kubota TERRA-KOYA since 2007, nearly 300 children have participated so far. The depth of interest and enthusiasm of the children who enjoy agriculture with candid awareness and perspectives is amazing.

By experiencing the vitality of nature and the power of life, Kubota will continue to provide opportunities for children, the bearers of our future, to deepen their interest in nature and become capable of discovering and challenging it.

2020 Activity Report

Although the 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID-19, the TERRA KOYA Yell Project was put into action as a new endeavor for former participants. Particularly since we are currently faced with many difficulties, the TERRA KOYA Yell Project web page was launched so that photos and messages might be posted with the hope that people will encourage one each other and move forward together.
